|An interest in sculpture from a very young age
motivated Jim throughout his early adult years.
Earning a living in construction was simply a
way to support his art. The Kalmar Nyckel
project in Wilmington, DE, combined his
ability to sculpt the human figure with years of
experience as a carpenter.
The Kalmar Nyckel experience opened doors
to work on other ships, including the
Constellation in Baltimore, MD, the Sultana
in Chestertown, MD, the Irving and the Exy
Johnson in San Pedro, CA, and the
